that which dwells

I am excited to share my solo exhibition, that which dwells, presented by Durst and Chashama at the Lobby Gallery of 1133 6th Avenue, right by Bryant Park. On view from July 16 to November 11, the exhibition features seven large-scale paintings created over the past decade, exploring themes of presence and the concept of "dwelling."

The exhibition has been recognized in Art Spiel’s “Must-See Shows” for August 2024. Curated by Jiwoo Kim, that which dwells draws its title from Friedrich Hölderlin’s poem The Journey, particularly the line, "Reluctant to leave the place / Is that which dwells near the origin." This line captures the essence of "dwelling," probing its metaphysical and philosophical dimensions—an increasingly relevant theme in contemporary culture.
